Flickr integration

It would be nice if Garmin Connect "picked up" the pictures I have uploaded to Flickr while I was doing an activity, and presented the images on the "Details" page of the activity here at Garmin Connect.

If I'm on out road cycling I often take a few pictures (pocket in the back pocket of the jersey), and connecting them to the activity here would be nice.

Flickr has an extensive API: http://www.flickr.com/services/api/

Hope Garmin can look into this.

Edit: This type of Flickr integration is used by another forum I use. The website if for all kinds of events (music, sports, etc) and everyone who ticks the checbox "I'm going" will automatically have their Flickr pictures from that time period displayed on the event page.

we do not currently support the attachment of photos to activities, but we do support navigating to photos. please visit connect.garmin.com/photos to see our photo connect page.
currently we do not support the flickr api, and instead have opted for Google's Panoramio.
  • Ok, finding photos on a map is nice (although there are numerous websites with this functionality already), but seeing photos directly related to an activity would be very useful (for me, at least ;-)

Maybe automatically showing Panoramio pictures near/on an activity's detail page is something that doesn't require a lot of work?

this is possible. on the activity details page, on the map there is a more button. select "photos" under that button and you'll see all the panoramio images uploaded within your bounding box. you can upload your geotagged photos to panoramio to get them added to the bounding box.
i get the point of what you specifically want, and trust me when i say its been under consideration ;-)

    Heh :-)
  • I'd really like to see flickr supported in addition to Panoramio. I am a paid flickr user, so I don't like to upload photos to different sites.
