training peaks virtual

is there anyway to import a .fit file from Training Peak Virtual and it gives you data for VO2 Max and load and such?  I have ridden this week and none of my manually uploaded files show anything in my load or VO2.  Garmin Connect doesn't do this with Zwift rides so not sure why it's doing this with Training Peaks Virtual.

  • The 3rd party app must pass compatibility and data conformity tests, and must be approved by Garmin, in order to transfer the metrics like Training Load, etc. Zwift, and few others are approved, TP Virtual apparently not (yet).

  • Do we know if this is being worked on?  I use my Garmin HRM Pro+ band to capture my heart rate.  This is the file uploaded to Garmin Connect as a fit file and then exported from Garmin Connect as a fit file.

Is the easier option to use Rouvy?  Will it upload all data to Garmin Connect?  It is a bit painful to manually export each ride file and upload to Garmin.

You'll have to ask Training Peaks. Garmin won't do that for them alone. Garmin can give them the access to their API (which already exists), but it is up to TP, to plug into it.

There are a number of 3rd party apps, sending activity data to Garmin Connect. Among others Tacx Training (actually owned by Garmin now), Zwift, Rouvy, TrainerRoad, Concept2 (and perhaps some others too).

  • I have a Schwinn ic4 bike, and it won't connect to Tacx app, even though Schwinn and BowFlex say they both will.

If they tell it will, then ask them to assist you. And if they don't, there are still plenty of other options remaining
