Site back, uploads broken ?

Just me or others having the same problem ?

I get an error "TypeError: this.activityDirectory is null" when uploading from my 305.

Never had this before and was okay earlier today when I uploaded from the same device.

Thanks

I've had various bits of the site crash and now get:

Service Unavailable - Zero size object

The server is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later.

    Try clearing your browser cache.

  • I tried clearing the cache and the site was still unavailable!

I had been getting the site after the announcement that the site was 100% back, apparently NOT ( even allowing for not being able to upload which was excluded from the 100% I assume!)

...without clearing my cache again the site has just re-appeared, but will it stay long enough to explore.. (oh that bits giving an error...!)

  • I cannot upload my workouts. I have one from yesterday and one from today. I tried uploading, it says received from device 100%, then switches to a new blue bar of progress that doesn't budge. I am using Firefox 3.5.

I did try a few times, also rebooted, and reloaded my browser, with a complete clear of cache. I only have IE 6 as an alternative and I know that is not supported, so I did not bother.

    Oh, I have a Garmin 305.

    Uploads are still not working.

Connect engineers are still making adjustments to the site. While the adjustments are in progress, uploads are temporarily disabled. We will finish the updates and get uploads enabled again ASAP. Thank you for your patience.

  • Well,on the GC web site 1:15 PST /3:15 EST there is still that friendly warning:

"Connect engineers are still making adjustments to the site. While the adjustments are in progress, uploads are temporarily disabled. We will finish the updates and get uploads enabled again ASAP. Thank you for your patience"

That in my humble opinion means that you can expect unstability...
It is possible that engineers did not pass the info to the Customer contact people.

What ?, a Garmin engineer who is a bad communicator, this is not possible , all engineer who are bad communicator are working with me, or "are me" :D

Personnally, I will wait few hours before attempting to "play" with GC...

Hmmmm... are the lights on yet?

it's like waiting in the dark for someone to turn the lights on at BGE.
Manual uploads was a feature prior to theupgrade, however I do like the calendar, reports, and health tracker that they have added. But, one would have hoped that after all the complaining on the forum about stop time, etc (things we had in MB), that this would have been a priority. Guess not.

Yeah, Right! Almost 24 hrs over due

    "System Maintenance Successful

We have completed the System Maintenance and have some great new features. Check out the What’s New page for a list of what was released today."
    :mad::mad:

Back from work. Would like to upload the new route I did today to compare time, distance and HR profiles before the wife and kid get home. No such luck.:(

Would it be too much to ask that the above quote be taken down. It should read something like this" System Maintenance Not Complete, In our race to bring the Garmin Connect community new and exciting features we have stumbled. We have not quit and ask your patients as we work through these issues. In the mean time we have a mirror of the original Garmin Connect at this location http://www.connect.garmin.com/opps_mirror"
  • Still the same problem hours later ......

Also, I have a rendering problem on Firefox on the activities screen - the text top left which says Quick Edit and Manual Upload is overwriting the activities.

Initially I was having similar problems in FF. Remembering that GC didn't like firebug and disabling that extension allowed the pages to render correctly. Possible you are running this extension?

ok, relatively new to the whole garmin world. I have uploaded 3 sessions prior to the administrative work that was done. Now it looks like everything is completed. I just tried to upload two more sessions. Looked like everything was working then I get the message.....activity transfer to garmin connect failed due to server error.....

so my question is....is the site still inoperable or is the problem on my end??

    Thanks,
    Mike

I got the same message. Gave it another try and was able to upload.
