Few issues with 8/25 update...

- Display/format problems with MS Internet Explorer 6
(activities page, for example, "add manual activity button" is screwed up and can't scroll left/right the table because bottom links are overlapping the table)

- Added a new cycling activity from 310XT and it populated the field "running cadence" with a value (95) in the activity table?! While the actual bike cadence was correct (97 rpm). The running cadence should be left empty.

Questions:
- Any way to share (create a link for general viewers) our calendar, and Reports??

- Swim activities reported by 310XT over-reports the distance (i.e. Swim 750 m, reports 3.2 km). Any way in the future to edit this parameter out in the activity table to restore the real distance?

Just a few things to double check:

    1. We no longer support IE6. FAQ.
    2. Make sure your device is set to Cycling.
    3. Not yet.
    4. Not at this time - will be added with a future release.

  • A few more comments

First: Thanks for the new features! :)

    My comments:

    1) Manually adding an activity: The date picker shows weeks starting with Sunday, even though I have specified Monday under Settings.

    2) Calendar: Checking the "Weekly Totals" in addition to "Activities" causes both Firefox (3.5.2, Mac OS 10.5.8) and Safari (latest) to display "Loading..." forever.

    3) Health: "Manual input" does not work in Firefox, but works in Safari.

    4) Health: There are other scales than Tanita, and it would be nice to be able to manually enter other data than just weight.

    5) Manually adding activity: It would save time of the last used activity was already selected in the drop-down lists. When entering five "Road cycling" activities, In have to scroll down in the "Activity type" menu five times. Same for "Event type", of course.

    6) Delete activity (from "Activities" tab, under "More actions") does not work in Firefox. It just displays "Loading...". In Safari I get a confirmation dialog ("Are you sure?"), and deletion works fine.

Hope you can have a look at this - thanks!

  • The new features are a good start but garmin promised a product equal to if not better than Motionbased and at this point we are still missing a lot of functions that were on Motionbased.

What is the date we expect garmin to make good on this promise?

    My two pence worth...

For my money, the main issues with the update are :

    1) Weight entry doesn't work in Firefox
    2) Why do you HAVE to provide a distance and speed for a manual entry? For things like skipping or boxing these are not appropriate.
    3) Why can't you edit an entry in your list?

These things stop the site being of any use to me - I can't add in the other workouts properly and I can't modify my runs to include the details I need.

I know it is fashionable around here to have a go at Garmin, but I do really feel that the company needs to connect with their customers a bit better (no pun intended) and work with them to benefit everyone.
  • 1) Weight entry doesn't work in Firefox

I tried this last night with FF v3.5.2. It worked. Tried again this morning right after I saw your post. It worked.
  • Congratulations, Great update. One of the 'what's new' issues is location based on GPS start. I don't see that anywhere in connect, though: how do you access it and see the locations?
  • 8/25 update suggestions...

First, thanks to Garmin for the update, any and all improvements are appreciated!

I have had limited time to look at the update, however....while some of the features are very exciting, I thought there were some obvious short comings.

Which are now in threads in the Feature Request Section:
    New Activity Type
Manual Input of (More) Health Data
    Edit Date for Manual Entries

3.5.2 on OS X - didn't work late last night.
    3.5.2 on Win 7 - didn't work this morning.

I chose 'manual entry' and put in the details, I get nothing shown on the graph.

Perhaps it's my account or something... although they are still tweaking so I will hang fire for now.

It worked fine this morning. Deleted the doubles and cleaned it all up. Might have just been a lot of traffic. Try it again. Using FF 3.5.2

Neither distance nor speed are required for a manual entry. Only fields denoted by stars (*) are required.
