I am seriously disappointed!

I am "close" to being a charter subscriber to MotionBased! That said, I'd like to express my strong feelings about the lack of transition of my data from MotionBased to Garmin Connect. I fail to understand why I still have hundreds of events that have not been transferred!

You would think paying customers would get far faster service!

Please get to it!

  • It is a slow process. No disputing that. I myself have 808 of 1,278 migrated. In case you haven't seen it, here's some more information on the migration.

This transition has been very painful indeed.

I too could not be more disappointed. I have about ½ to maybe 2/3 of my activities migrated. I was hoping to download a course into my gps this evening which I rode several years ago. I had plans to ride the course tomorrow morning; it’s a back country mountain bike course. Of course it hasn’t migrated to Garmin Connect and motion base has turned off the agent for transferring the route to my GPS.

Having paid for Motion Based I don’t like the idea of having to pay again for Google Earth + so I can use a feature I thought I already was paying for in Motion Based. Looks like we'll be ridding something else tomorrow.

If that isn't working for you, you can still download other ways, such as crs, gpx, and hst files. Been doing it all along.

I understand you guys are trying to be helpful but that migration link was posted in June.... Hello it is August 23 and well past time for a NEW update... If that is the best garmin can do,,,, just respond with the truth... you have no idea what's going on with the migration.

I only know what has been posted. Moderators are not Garmin employees and have no special insight into Garmin's plans.
  • As with most things posted on this form the following moderators have left the impression that they are GC employees. RUNKKRUN, Kathryn and KANSAIBEN but lets say you are correct and non of the moderators are employed by GC and not only do they not have any insight to Garmin's plans but they don't have the means to obtain current information from Garmin.

This leads me to the next logical questions.

    1) How does it make any sense to have customer facing people that not only aren't employed by the parent company but have no why of obtaining current information?

    2) If the forum isn't the place to get updated information where do customers go to get updates because the GC website is rarely updated?

There are some moderators that are Garmin employees. SEILOGRAMP is not. KANSAIBEN is not. I am not. RUNKKRUN is an Administrator and is a Garmin employee.

The forums are a good place to get updates. The non-Garmin moderators can only point you to public posts and information about the releases as that is what we know.

Late August is what we know because it's what we've been told.

  • Again, I would argue that the public updates are few and far between so if we can not get answers here.... As you have stated you can only help the people that are web browser challenged.

where do do we go for answers to simple questions that require garmin's insight?

Again like.... A new GC release is suppose to come out in less than a week and their hasn't been anything officially released about it?

And the Data migration update is pitiful according to the update that you sent out they should be close done by now.... Yet another failure on GC's long list.

I am not feeling like a valued customer

I like to think we do more than help the web-browser challenged. ;)

But we can't help you with your particular issue because we don't know. August is not over yet, so until it is, I fail to see what the problem is.

You're welcome to contact support directly and have a dialog with them.

  • As seen on GC login page:
This is a very long maintenance.....

"Garmin Connect will be unavailable due to maintenance on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM CDT"

Again, I would argue that the public updates are few and far between so if we can not get answers here....
