i was wondering if you guys will ever come out with a car gps model like the nuvi 855 (i am thinking of buying) that will allow me to make track logs of where i am going. so that way i can have a nice wide screen in my rockrawler that will allow me to make track of roads that are not on your maps. or add to the roads that end where my trails begin to come home and add to my maps. just that feature allone is making my decision hard i want a garmin of work and play but i want that feature to..

kinda like this type of unit. if it doesnt show up it is page 19

I am ready to buy a new GPS unit to replace my old Streetpilot3 but I need off roading features like this. (the PDF, from post above, page 19)

Can the Garmin 885t do any thing like this? Can it at least leave a bread crumb trail when there is no road whatsoever? No responses = NO it can't

Mods that move threads should have these type of answers!!

I have a NUVI 760 and it does leave tracks where I go, regardless if there is an actual road there or not. However, it can't then auto-route over those tracks.

I'd love to have all the answers, but alas, I do not.

Until the forums are expanded to include forum topic areas for car units, these types of discussions are put in The Water Cooler.

    Thanks,

Yes, but it only logs 9,999 track points and then starts overwriting. So after about 8 hours of logging you start losing data beginning at your start point. This means if you log 12 hours you have lost the first 4 hours of the track log.

Thus, my thread how to archive tracks. It doesn't appear to be possible.
