The feature was in the last release but pulled last minute due to the way it assigned locations for certain countries. But the UI components for the feature were not removed. It's back in the next major release scheduled for late August to early September and a bulk process will be run to assign locations to the existing activities.

Change the default location in Explore Activities?
It would be nice to be able to change the default location when you go to Explore others' activities. I'm often looking for new routes to ride, but San Francisco is a few thousand miles away.
And while you're at it, I'd like to hide all the running activities by default too. No offense, runners. :)
