Meassurement units sharing activities

Hi,

I'm a Forerunner 405 user, and I'm from Spain. I have spanish language in my Garmin connect preferences, and metric system in meassurement units, but when I share my activities for other people to see them, they appear in english system (feet, miles, and so on).
Does anybody know how can I show my activities in metric system?

Thanks!!
  • I agree, I have the same problem, since I live in a country with metric units as well.
When sharing, it should use the units of the activity publisher as default.
Most of my friends use the same type of units than me, they live around my area, therefore use metric.
If anyone want to convert, that is ok with the site option.

    Hello,

this watch can be mesure on satellite way but can't be convert a simple data?? This is a joke, isn't?
  • Sharing an activity in metric requires sending a url a bit longer than it should:

    http://connect.garmin.com/page/activity/activity.faces?activityId=***YOURACTIVITYIDHERE***&actionMethod=page%2Factivity%2Factivity.xhtml%3AuserSwitcher.switchSystem

Replace the ***YOURACTIVITYIDHERE*** by the ID of you activity of course (that's the number at the end of the URL
    ex http://connect.garmin.com/activity/25249442

That correspond to the "View in Metric" link in your shared activity (I removed the cid parameter at the end which is some sort of session ID I guess).

This is more a "hack" than a convenient solution for sure. I was getting over and over the same question from my friend... how can I view in Metric? Does it work in French too? ... Fixing this issue should not be much (90% of the time getting the user' units and language would do the trick perfectly).

    T.
  • Garmin can also make a button on the Garmin Connect page to switch between km and miles. The viewer can change to the unit he likes.
