Run won't upload after firmware update

Hi. This morning's run was my first since updating the firmware on my Forerunner 405 the other day. I put the watch down near the computer and heard the connection beeping sound, but my run did not upload. It still appears to be on the watch but I cannot make the watch connect with the ANT agent again.

  • In the ANT+ menu within the settings options there is the ability to force send. This will resend all the data on the watch. That can be a bit too much if you've got a lot of history on the device so I'd first check to see if the data got downloaded to your computer but failed to load to GC/GTC. The data would be located in your device history folder on your computer where your application data is stored. If you specify your OS we can help you find the exact location of that. If the data is there you won't need to use the force send, just opt for the manual upload option in GC.

    My OS is Vista

    I haven't been able to find where the files are stored. Also, I think I tried to do a forced send but nothing happened. Thank you.

  • For Vista you'll find these files located here:
    C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Devices\[your device ID #]\History

    Bear in mind app data files/folder are hidden by default and you'll need to enable their viewing in your computer's folder view options before you can see them. Post back your results...

    Problems transfering data in Forerunner 405CX

    I am having the same problems after updating the new version of the Garmin ANT Agent. I have tried force send, reset the watch, etc, etc. Data simply does not transfer, and a message in the ANT software appears saying: failure in the last transfer. Is there a problem in the new version of the ANT Transfer Software?

  • What version of ANT Agent do you have right now?

    There was an issue in the previous version of the ANT Agent that caused uploads from the 405CX to fail, but a new version was just released that should fix this issue.

    Yesterday's run is not listed in the history. The data apparently did not transfer from the watch.

    My version is 2.2.5. Is that the latest?

  • ANT Agent 2.2.7 is the latest.
  • 2.2.5 is the ANT Agent version that has issues with the 405CX (also v2.1.2 for MAC). You should be able to upgrade to version 2.2.7 using the software update functionality built into the ANT Agent.

    I just updated to 2.2.7 and rebooted the computer. Still no connection between the ANT Agent and the watch.
