Firefox and Safari crash while uploading new activites from Edge 705

I just recently updated my Edge 705 firmware to v 2.8. Completed a century bicycle ride and attempted to upload activity data. Garmin Connect detects the unit, says it has successfully completed the upload then Firefox crashes. Tried with Safari. Exact same behavior. Never had this problem with v2.6 or v2.7. Have you seen this behavior with others. Any idea what's going on?

Just updated Garmin Communicator to current version for Mac. Still the same behavior. Correctly detects the unit, successfully uploads data then the browser promptly crashes when touching either "Upload new activities" or "Upload from a list".
  • I have had issues in FF with uploading. It will stop in the 80% (weird its usually 88 or 84%) and will hang for 5+ mins. When I reload the tab it crashes FF. Just did it 4 times in a row before getting a clean upload.
    No error was listed.

I have exactly the same problem except that I use Explorer 8 on Vista64. I think a bug is introduced with version 2.8 and hope they will do fix it.
