splits - ability to add splits after uploading to Connect

while working within Garmin Connect it would be very handy to be able to add and later analyze splits. Who hasn't forgotten to hit the split button after completing a lap during a race?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned SportTracks. They've had this feature for five years. You can split by distance, time, add, remove, edit - complete control. Laps are marked on all the charts and the maps - you can pick a lap and zoom in on the section, see stats for laps etc.

Really great, simple to use, supports Garmin.

beside just adding "split" and "join" it would be as well nice to be able to move start and end of a run.

    Just imagine:
    -your GPS was not ready
-you are driving through a tunnel
    -you forgot to press start
-you forgot to press stop and continue by car.

-> This all give wrong data that NEED to be corrected. Editing within the map (I had preferred google map to bing, but whatever) would correct those issue.

If Garmin has having issue about "extra" free kilometers, you still can add a "altered" tag to the track.:o

Thanks for implementing that soon.. as written in another post: iPhone-App is getting quite good (even having pulse, ANT, and of course free google online map etc).

    Cheers, Georges

P.S.: By the way: why not using all the collected user data point to correct the Garmin maps? ;-)

2+ years later and I'm guessing this feature hasn't been added yet or at least I haven't figured it out. (I'm new to Garmin)

    Edit split data

It would be very helpful to be able to edit split data. I often do runs on track. So it is indoor and I'd like to edit the distance of my split to get the avg. pace I had for this split.

I don't care about calorie and temperature... but at least being able to edit distance or speed or time.

Just make the filed in the split view editable

    Thank Joel

I think this is a good idea. Being able to post process the data and create custom splits/laps etc would be very handy for analysis.

It is very useful for me.

    Wish this was possible

I also really wish this feature was available.

I finished an entire race and then left the Garmin off and drove home :-( Manually adding a split would let me get my data.

Also, I use my Forerunner for kayaking, and there is always I ~5 second delay between when I press start and then I actually start my sprint. I would love to be able to edit that out.

The software is just not up to snuff. The analysis tools offered are not versatile enough. So disappointed. This is a deal breaker for me.
  • We Need Edit Capability

I am a Forerunner 910XT user. While swimming in a lap pool it is too easy to miss hitting the lap button on starting or stopping rest periods and therefore getting out of sequence. We need to be able to fix these splits. Garmin Training Center is not set up for the 910XT. Garmin Connect needs to be modified to allow us to change splits for swimming, running or biking as needed.

I can add splits in sportstracks, but I can't find a way to export the data with splits included that I can then use in Garmin Connect. Is that possible?
  • What?

How come something as basic as this is not available?
This is not asking for the moon, no? **years** its been asked for! Unbelievable...

I too am disappointed by something so (seemingly) fundamental missing from connect, but 2 years?

    Try Strava!

You can create segments for analysis (and comparison with others) which I think is similar functionality of laps, but more importantly (for me), it you want to look at the data for a specific part of the ride, you can highlight the part of the graph you want to look at, it zooms in on the graph (like connect) but it highlights the part of the course you've selected
