while working within Garmin Connect it would be very handy to be able to add and later analyze splits. Who hasn't forgotten to hit the split button after completing a lap during a race?
When swimming laps I hit the lap button after each set of 10 or 20 lengths etc.. This gives me the time but not the distance (indoors). With my Polar RS400 and polar software I simply input the distance for each lap time and that worked out the pace for me. This was great for tracking progress and seeing if I was getting faster. I find it hard to believe it's not possible with Garmin connect or Training centre. Unless I'm missing something. If I am please point it out to me. But I think it's something they should definitely have.
I'm a xc mtb racer and would just like to add to the request.
Using autolap is ok on a training route but when racing the starting point is often slightly different to the lap point and so autolap does not click in; and I don't fancy trying to hit the lap button when racing.
Back in the gym again this winter.
( my previous post in this thread was in August 2009)
I now have a 310 and a footpod so the treadmill is no problem.
But I do wish to add distance to my splits on the X-trainer, to go with the HR information.
Surely it can't be that hard Garmin.
If you tell us the problem you have with it , perhaps you could post here, we collectively could add some suggestions!
Treadmill running provides accurate distance from the treadmill, but you cannot add this to your split data once uploaded to GC. Please work on adding this ability to manually assign a distance to a lap.
I often do a non gps run in the gym, recording my HR on my 305 and hitting the split button for each Mile/ defined distance
Being able to add the distance to a split would be very useful
Would also add that using a map to define start/stop points of a "lap" after the fact would be brilliant. I could see my pace/HR/etc for a particular hill or course section
