while working within Garmin Connect it would be very handy to be able to add and later analyze splits. Who hasn't forgotten to hit the split button after completing a lap during a race?
I would love to see this option too as I often forget to hit the lap button on my watch and so I lose the ability to compare my intervals for the session.
The ability to obtain information post-activity that wasn't recorded at the time is a great advantage and one of the reasons I go to the trouble of uploading my workout data. I would love to be able to add user-defined laps based on distance, time or best of all by marking start and end points.
It would be very useful if I could specify a start and end point within the summary graphs for an activity so that I can see the averages for that section of my activity.
My CycleOps Poweragent softwarte has this facility and it also allows you to then set that section as a user-defined lap.
This means that I can go into an activity and mark off the sprint sections of my cycle ride or the hill climbs in my run and then compare my performance between these splits.
Are you able to view a file, and then capture a slice (i.e. effectively create a lap after the fact) and then view the details of that segment. E.g. in a set of 1000s, could you capture any 500m of the file and the get the details, averages, etc over that selected 500m only.
Hope that this is clear. Ideally it would be nive to have a cut feature and then drop the cut or copied data to a new file.
