Transferring data between two notebooks

Hello,

I recently bought a brand new Vaio-Z notebook, running Windows Vista Business 64 bits, and I would like to transfer all the old Garmin GPS data I have in the old Windows XP notebook to this new computer.

I already tried to copy all the “c:/garmin” folder contents to the Vaio but it doesn’t work. Mapsource, for example, reports the following error at start "could not find any installed Mapsource map products".

Besides, two months ago I bought and installed the new nuMaps Lifetime pack in the older computer and now I can’t use it to update my Zumo 550 with my brand new Vaio.

I already tried to instal the nuMaps Lifetime in the Vaio but I always get "This download has expired" error.

Thanks in advance. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Best regards.
  • It's not clear to me, are you trying to copy over the data from a GPS fitness device which has been uploaded to Garmin Training Center or something else? You should look to do clean installs of the software on your new computer rather than copying over. If, however, it is the GTC data you're after though, you'll find this on Vista computers here:
    C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Training Center

    Many thanks Anthony,

I copied the last nuMaps Lifetime file (the 3 GB “Garmin_rmu_cneunt2010.exe” file) I had downloaded from Garmin into my old computer to my new Vaio and reinstalled it.

After running it into the Vaio, I got the updated Europe maps as well as the last Mapsource program installed again in my new notebook. After that I just had to download and install Webupdater and Poiloader to have all Garmin files and programs running fine again in my new computer. :)

Thanks a lot and best regards.
