Forerunner 405CX upload problems

I have a new 405CX & am unable to upload the workout from yesterday. This is the first time I have used it so maybe it is me.
I have installed the USB drivers, ANT agent etc, the Communicator plug in tests OK.
After pressing the appropriate button on the watch, the response "transferring data" is displayed.
On my Garmin Connect homepage, with my device displayed, when I click upload new activities, the response "No new activities to upload" is displayed in a new window.
Help. What am I doing wrong.
  • Are you seeing any messages in the ANT agent? Transfer complete or error message? Also, what OS are you on and what version of the firmware/ANT agent are you using? Currently there is a known issue regarding the latest firmware/ANT agent combo for the 405CX:

    The ANT is 2.2.1.
    Our operating system is Windows XP.
    We are not getting any error or reject messages from the watch.
    Very frustrating.

    Same issue but with Forerunner 305

    I am running WIndows XP, with latest patches, etc...Today's ride will not upload in either training center or Garmin Connect (IE 8), but it uploads to trainingpeaks.com.

    This is the second time that this has occurred.
