Heart Rate data being read but not in calculation

I have a Garmin Forerunner 235, when i complete a run using an external HRM it doesn't correctly calculate calories. It appears to be showing resting calories for the time.

If i use the watch heartrate monitor and not an external it calculates correctly. Using this external HRM while cycling via the edge it works correctly. Any ideas?

Monitor is a Myzone brand monitor.

Well, nobody replied, because nobody has a solution for you. Personally, I get the Calories correctly, regardless whether I use an external HRM or not, but I use a different watch model.

It would be better posting the question on the forum for FR235, but since it is a discontinued model, the forum was closed, and is available in read-only mode.
