Do the moderators get paid?

Do the moderators get discounts or are they paid employees? If I become a MOD do I get to speak to the project manager about how he/she ruined Motionbased/Garmin Connect. I do love how they stop the uprising daily by locking and removing threads/posts. I actually think it is fun to post about this and will continue this until my motionbased features are returned. My favorite mod appears to be KANSAIBEN. But who can dislike someone who likes rock, paper, scissors and belly dancing?

Total Agreement - What GARMIN NEEDS TO DO

I think you and I have the same Mod.
    - Bring Motionbased BACK ON LINE NOW!
    - Let us upload our activities to Motionbased
-work on the bugs and features in CONNECT.GARMIN.COM
-then migrate users data and pull the plug on MOTIONBASED

How hard is that??? Is motionbased database about to dump any moment tape backups not working??
I'm in I.T. and and do Migrations all the time!

Let us post NEW DATA to MOTIONBASED until CONNECT.GARMIN is fixed with the features we need!
Just open up the port and let us upload our new activities!
  • Your options are as follows;
    1. Get over it. Companies get bought out or fold all the time. It may result in a change in the business model. You might not like the changes. Vote with your wallet.
    2. Use alternative software.
    3. write your own software.
    4. Jump up and down and cry like a baby.

    hmmm

MotionBased, a division of Garmin International, is based in San Francisco, California -- a playground for endurance and outdoor sport enthusiasts.
Motinbased is owned by GARMIN. It's not matter of buying out another company.
  • My mistake. Apologies.

It seems a bit silly to kill the old system before the new one is up to scratch. I can understand the reasons for building connect.garmin.com - make it slicker etc to launch with the forerunner 50. Therefore I will have to revise my options!

    1. Get over it. Some companies haven't got a clue about customer services. Vote with your wallet.
    2. Use alternative software - SportsTrack looks OK ?
    3. write your own software.
    4. Jump up and down and cry like a baby.

Except I did vote with your wallet and paid for advanced services which are no longer available.

    Banning

I am getting too many warnings from the moderators. I will be banned for a week because of posting my opinions\frustrations on this forum about my disgust with the new web service; as well as commenting that they should have left MB alone until the new site was completed. AS AN I.T. Person myself... I WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED FOR PLANNING SUCH A POOR PROJECT AND UPSETTING MY CUSTOMER BASE . But since that is my opinion, this post will most likely be deleted because I some how have insulted someone over at Garmin.
  • Let me be the first to suggest a new GC category called "whining". You two would have burnt the most calories to date.

Get out and do some exercise, ride, run, walk, swim, etc. The lack of features in GC is not preventing you to use your devices to their maximum capabilities and surely there is plenty of software that can provide you the analysis you are desperately complaining about.

    Sheesh!

    take a look my friend

at my rides and get back to me.
I "Complain" because there is DATA that I need and use when doing my rides. and all this is unnecessary if they had left MB up and running.

    Folks,

Please note, JLLACLAIR has not been told he will be banned for stating his opinion. There are many on here who have stated their preference for MotionBased.

I have informed JLLACLAIR that if he continues repeating the same aggressive/combative/argumentative rants that he will be banned for a week.

We do not mind people stating their opinion. However, when it deteriorates to mindless ranting and seemingly goading people into a spitting contest/argument ("how often do you *do whatever*?"), it does nothing to further helpful, useful discussion. It is at that point that I will not hesitate to ban someone, no initial infraction necessary.

I hope this clears things up. And, this thread is now closed.
