Edit Laps and other data

Any chance we can edit/delete laps in GC rather than have to do it in TC and then reupload?
For example, 5 mile run with 1 mile laps. If I press the stop button at 5.1miles then I get a new lap of .1miles. I have to remove this in TC then reupload...

General edit capabilities have come up again and again. I agree and think this would be a great addition to the site.

Edit activity data (fix data issues linked to gps device usage)

    - GPS doesn't cut off
    - I accidentally start a new activity and it adds onto the last one
    - GPS doesn't log distance correctly if satellite acquisition is too slow to wait for on a give day

I need to edit the files in GC to fix these and other issues...
  • I would like to see a full editing capability of all the recorded data. For example, I often get spurious HR readings which can distort the average HR data for the complete activity and also spoil max values.

Sometimes my candence registers peak values of "actual speed" multiplied by factor 2. It would be nice if garmin team could implement filters to deal with these bad readings. Or let users to do so with editor. Also, Forerunner405 used for Cross country/Downhill biking registers highly inaccurate calorie data. Let users choose data they want to save.

    Manually edit distance?

Is it possible to manually edit distance? If so, can you please tell me how?

I do a lot of rowing on a waterrower, and the distance data never gets to my fr50. I'd really like to be able to key in a total distance if possible.

    Thx.

currently there is not a way to edit distance, but this is a feature currently under consideration.

    Truncate uploaded data

It would be really great if as part of the editing function of a particular uploaded Activity one could simply truncate the data at a given time or distance. I can't seem to remember to always hit stop on my 405CX when I'm done running or I don't press it properly and until I do I get a bunch of extra data that overstates how far I've really gone while exercising. This seems like a simple thing and would be better than using the manual input function you are working on because it would still retain heart rate data, etc., up to the truncated point. Thanks for your consideration.

Add me as a +1 for liking this idea...
From time to time I'll do a bike ride and forget to hit stop, so you end up with 20 minutes or so of meaningless data when you upload it. Would be a super nice feature to be able to chop it off at the appropriate time.
  • I'd really like this too as i always record my laps of the pool when swimming but it doesn't register with any distance so it would be great if i could input this to at least sum the total distance for my reports. I know i can add an activity now but then I'd lose the laps I've entered while doing the activity
  • Yeah, me too. I'd like to be able to delete individual laps from the unit before I ever upload. I occassionally have a few seconds of test data that sits by itself as an activity. I can chose not to upload but it always asks me to upload either to GC or TC.
