New device request

I know Garmin Oregon is not listed as fitness device as it main use. But, as long as it comes with a built in fitness profile, accepts bike cadence sensor and HR monitor, GC should support it.

I always have to use TCX converter to get its tracks in GPX format with HR information so it can be uploaded to GC.

    More devices will be supported.

I mean, Garmin Oregon (and maybe Dakota) should be supported in GC as fitness devices since they can have HR data recorded in tracks. Even when using MotionBased to load .gpx tracks with HR data info, it does not get HR info although the .gpx file does have HR info.

HR is not part of the official GPX definition, it is only an extension (as you see enframed by a tag with that name). So if a service states it supports GPX, it doesn't necessarily support HR.

Hi Krabat, you're right, HR is not standard in GPX. I'm aware of this fact. But, the point is: Garmin did put this extension in GPX files in Oregon series, so GC should be compatible with this extension included by Garmin itself. We are talking about the same vendor: Garmin. I'm using GC because my device is Garmin.

    Hi Leoholanda,
I don't own an Oregon, but when it uses this extension GC should indeed support it! Hopefully this will be the case in a short while.

    Oregon 550t

I am surprised to find I cannot upload data from the new Oregon 550t to either Motion Based or Garmin Connect. Any ideas?

If you are having trouble uploading to MB, post over on the MB forums in the troubleshooting section. You should be able to upload your GPX files, but you won't get HR data because MB doesn't support those GPX extensions.

    Oregon 550t

Thanks NDURANCERIDER ... amazing to me Garmin would release a cool tool like the Oregon 550t and not support it immediately in GC. I did look in the MB Forums for help -- best advice there is to use SportTrack, which does accept GPX and HR. Sounds like October-November before GC will support the Oregon 550t, so it's SportTrack for now ...
