Hi!
Today I wanted to manually add my fat percentage to my Garmin app as it always displays that I am overweight!
I couldn't figure how to do this within the app (why is there no option to add a fat percentage?).
For context: I am 82kg (181lbs) at 1.78 cm (5'10") at a body fat percentage of 15% (measured with caliper and I have visible abs and definition throughout my body).
I tried Trux's answer in this thread.
I firstly exported the .csv of my data from past year which looks like:
The first thing I tried was just adjusting the fat values and reuploading. Yet that gives the error 'An error occurred with your upload. Please try again.'
On Garmin's website they say this could be because of:
-
If you upload Fitbit® data containing data on the same day that the account already has Garmin data.
-
Data that does not have the same date formatting throughout the file.
So because of this I used Trux's exact format:
This still didn't work. So I removed the Garmin data from past year so that the uploaded data doesn't overlap with the existing Garmin data.
I got the error again and now I have no clue what to do. I cannot import the data because the format is probably wrong?
Yet I get no feedback from the Garmin website about what part of the provided data causes the problem.
Any help would be appreciated!
EDIT:
The problem was in the fact that some of the fat values were not defined with '--' that I copied from the data export from Garmin.
Garmin does not support empty values defined when '--' importing data.
For reference: this format does work!
