Garmin keeps resetting my password

Hello,

Garmin keeps resetting my passoword. I didn't ask for reset. Everytime it happens, 4 or 5 mails within a few minutes are sent to me with new temporary password. The mails are genuine because when I use the last temporary password from the mail to login to Garmin Connect, it lets me through and asks me to set a new password. There are simillar topics with the same problem, but I can not see any solution there.

Please help me.

What can I do?

Is this a server problem?

Am I being hacked?

Is my e-mail address compromised?

That is possible, of course. I recommend keeping a very strong password. The longer the better. You can also consider enabling the 2FA option. just be aware that it is not reversible and once you enable it, you will not be able to disable it.

I hope you did not use any link from the email to access Garmin Connect, since that is exactly the way hackers capture your password - through a bogus copy of the original login page, and then redirecting you to the genuine website,

  • Hi trux, thx for your reply.

Of course, I use random password for each login, stored in password manager, that is not an issue.

No, thanks. Since it is not reversible as you said

Of course I did not :) I work in IT and these phishing attacks are not new to me.

I copied the last temporary password from mail, manually opened garmin connect, logged in with the temp password and it forced me to set a new password. This new password then works in Android app, in forum, everywhere so that's why I assume the mail is genuine.

I changed my login email to another one to see if there is just somebody who keeps resetting password for others just for fun, or whatever reason he has.
