Stop getting random one-time passcodes

I am getting one-time passcode emails several times a day. I tried changing my password but this has not stopped them. Any idea why?

  • Do you mean the 2FA codes? Do you have 2FA enabled?

If it is enabled and someone use your email and correct password you will get a new code. It should remember your browser but it isn't working that good. Sometimes it can work for days and sometimes you have to login several times per day from the same browser.

If you are using a 3rd party service that tries to login to your account it will trigger that code. It could be an app on the phone or computer or a web service.

  • Thanks.  Yes they are 2FA codes and I do have this enabled.  Something is triggering the 2FA, even after I have changed my password. In the last 4 hours alone I have had 12 F2A codes sent. I am linked to strava and vitality from Garmin.  But I assume those type of links dont use 2FA?

  • The services you see linked in this page do not require 2FA: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/accountInformation

If you have a service that do not use the official Garmin API then the password change would stop it from reaching the 2FA input and the emails would stop.

You could create a support case with Garmin Support and see if they can see anything.

  • Many thanks. I uninstalled the Garmin connect app on my iPhone, reinstalled and logged in. Not 100% sure why but this seams to have stopped it.

thanks for taking the time to help.
