Garmin Connect Web Courses - can't transfer to my 405

Courses - can't transfer to my 405

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get a previous run as a course on my 405 ??

So far I have managed to select a run, have 'sent to device' and it recognises my 405 and tells me it has successfully transferred to device. Not so. Even when I connect via ANT Agent and download new activities, the course has not gone onto the 405.

Help please !!!!

It seems that theres a problem with the course feature, i succeeded in transferring course to my 405, but only one course, when i tried to add a second course it deleted the first one. more then that, sometimes the 405 stuck when you try to view details of previously loaded course.

Were you using TC to transfer the course, or some other online course creator?

I tried to load course i ran and posted to GC, i tried to load it back through Garmin Connect... (Not sure what you meant by TC...)

OK, as i said.. always with GC.

I know that transferring courses using online course creators (maybe GC too) you will lose all other saved courses on the device. If you want to keep all of your courses, you have import into TC, then send to your device.

OK - Seilogramp, thanks for your responses. So are you saying that I need to go to Garmin Training Centre rather than Garmin Connect to upload (download???) courses to the device ??

That would would fix your course deletion problem, but still not sure about why you were having issues with the unit freezing when you viewed details.

Just for laughs, thought I'd try what you are doing using my 310XT. With one course that I had sent from TC already on there,. I sent a course to the device from a GC activity. The original course did not get deleted and I could view the details of both courses. Then I deleted both of those. I then downloaded a course from GC, then downloaded another course from GC. The original course was gone, as I suspected it would be. So I suppose the moral of the story is to use TC if you want to maintain a database of courses and not lose any existing courses on your device.

That's just it !!!! You keep saying you download a course from GC to the device - HOW !!!!!!! I save a course and it says successfully transferred to my 405, but there's been no ANT stick present so it can't... but then when I insert the ANT stick, open ANT Agent and it transfers activites FROM the device to GC, but nothing goes the other way .... ?
