Dear Garmin,

Just spend some time with the new Connect site.
I'm an IT guy, done a lot of web projects, know about performance stuff there and the problems with that. I really like your effort on bringing this site up, but have to point out some areas that really need improvement before I can use this page without seeing my heart rate increase ;-)

Upload Plugin
Didn't work for me in Safari, I had to use Firefox - no big deal here, I can live with that.

Upload
I connected my Garmin Forerunner 305 that I bought 2007 and I must admit I love it.
The upload plugin found 101 activities that it tried to upload. Somehow it did not go past the first 3. Consecutive upload tries did not work at all.
I would say the upload does not work very well, please fix this essential part of your service. I saw reports from other users that duplicates are not easily identified, that would be annoying, too.

My wife (username: driggi2) is not able to login and gets a nice 'internal server error 500' from you JBoss. Please see attachment (she cannot login, therefore not file a forum entry or customer service request).

Migration
I understand that the migration is done in phases. Currently from my 94 motionbased activities I see 55.
I hope that motionbased will be around for some time still, so that my activities do not get lost and you can migrate them over.

Performance
One of the worst experiences ever on the web. Every click takes around 30 seconds to give a response, and I'm in New York not that far away from the servers that seem to be hosted someplace in Kansas. Looks like you are using Akamai as CDN and they serve much larger sites then Connect with great performance. So, please do some analysis there (backend, caching settings) to improve the site response times.

Not going into detail of the features offered by the Connect page. Seems it offers the set of functionality that I like to see from a page like that.

Can you give a status for those issues and when they are fixed?

    I second what SCHADIX posted

But to add to this I too work in IT and in fact both develop & test web sites professionally and I therefore know what to expect.

This present offering is a long way short of acceptable on several levels - performance, usability, robustness (same 500 error when going to next page of activities), lack of functionality etc.

Open up the code for us and we can fix! :D

Would love to see the codebase :-)

Yeah, would love to take a quick look at the code base there...

No response from the connect.garmin team so far...
