Definition of Speed

The definition of speed is: The rate or a measure of the rate of motion measure as distance traveled divided by the time of travel. Garmin Connect appears to use 'pace' throught the site but labels it as 'speed'. Speed is usually described in miles per hour. Pace is usually described as minutes per mile. Please correct the headings to state pace instead of speed throughout your site. It is very confusing.

I could list a whole host of other disappointments with Garmin Connect such as the lack of location, lack of weather, poor page layouts that require you to move around on the screen, upload of duplicates for activities that were copied over from motion-based adn so on...but all these appear to have been mentioned elsewhere in the forum.

Garmin Connect appears to have been designed by people unfamiliar with how their users would want to use the site. I wish motion based would remain active until Garmin Connect gets their act together.

In this case, I'll give them some credit because for running activities, pace is provided, and for biking activities, speed is provided, and this is done fairly automatically. For example, on the myConnect > Activities page, my running activities show an overall pace, and my biking activities show an overall speed.

The only place I can see where "speed" is used incorrectly is on the player page, which has "speed (min/mile)" when it should be, technically, "pace (min/mile)." But at least it IS the pace that's provided for a running activity, and it's smart enough to do it automatically. Having it mislabeled doesn't seem like a big deal.

Speed is used in both the graph above the player and the indicators below the player. In addition to the player, pace has also been labeled as speed in the splits screen. The activities page lists both in the column heading, but if you roll your mouse over the column heading, it incorrectly displays miles per hour. WIth the reports, speed is used and it does not look like pace is even available to include in a report.

Yes, it is inconvenienct and I find it confusing at times. Also, as some one who supports computer applications, I find it rather sloppy and I know something of this nature never would be considered acceptable by my users.
