Heartrate Histogram

Display a histogram of heartrate data from a ride.

The more time that is spent at a given heartrate the taller the histogram is at that bpm value. During playback this graph would start flat and draw the data on the graph as the ride progresses as the histogram peaks draw during playback it would be an excellent visual to see what parts of the course influence heartrate the most.

Although in preferences we can set our own heart rate zone, I missed the detailed time spent on each zone like we had in MB, for example:

    Zone Time Dist Avg Speed
    Idle 0-50% 00:00:00 0.00 0.0
    Bellow Target 50-70% 00:30:25 3.44 6.8
    Target Zone 70-90% 01:50:25 24.13 13.1
    Danger 90-100% 00:17:49 3.81 12.8

Is this a new feature request? Or maybe I just didn't find it :o.

    HeartRate related to Calories

What are calories calculated by - running sports, bicycling sports, etc. - all leg stuff only?

HeartRate monitors never figure in the sport do they ?

    Kayaking involves { legs + trunk + upper body }

    A 220lb or 100 kg guy can blow 1,000 cal/hr kayak racing.

Depends on the device you are using. The newer Garmin fitness devices use FIRSTBEAT Technologies' method based on heart rate measurement.

    HeartRate and Caloric Expenditure

The study shown above used incremental bicycle ergometer
    (Ergoline, Bitz, Germany)

Bicycling in a lab on a erg doesn't involve the WHOLE body
    http://www.ergoline.com/
Arms, trunk, stay still while hooked up to VO2 sensors and other equipment

Kayaking is bicycling + trunk + upper body workout

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lef_ut8n0ms

I think caloric expenditure is OFF by a large factor due to studies that use only bikes and treadmills.

I was wondering the same thing about the heart rate zones. Is this going to come out in future updates or is it already somewhere on the site?

    +1

I'd really like this feature, too. iSMARTtrain and Ascent have something like that. It's a super nice feature. If something like that could be put into the reports section as well (in addition to the normal detailed view) that would be awesome!
