Motionbased data incomplete, no change

About 1/6 (one-sixth) of my data on motionbased has been copied to garmin connect. It has remained in this state for weeks. When are you going to get all of my data onto GC?

    BEAKER49K,
I just want to understand what kind of answer are you expecting from garmin. is it something like:

"we made a mistake closing motionbased too soon because we did not expect the migration&dev of GC to be that painful"

"when we started the migration we did not take into account that people with longest rides are the "enthusiastic cyclists/runners" that depends the most on having access to their historical activities In GC"

Garmin clearly missed their schedule, and they clearly state "we are working on it", (last update was on july_16), which is not so bad in my opinion.

I am sure that nobody will look back at this migration saying
"things went as expected" or "if I had to redo this, I would do it just the same way"

But the process is started, we need to wait until it finishes...

From my experience, When things don't go as expected, the last thing you should do is try to rush people to go faster, it will just make things worse.

So, I am just painfully, heuh I mean patiently waiting for things to settle :)

    Ben,

Let me know how that works for you in a couple more months, OK?

You won't be able to upload to MB, but you can upload to GC. I've been doing it for two months now from my Edge 305 without incident.

I agree that GC is missing some nice features that MB had, and I know that GC is working on it. I know we all wish those features were in place now. I trust that they will do it, in time. I also know that much of that analysis can still be carried out using training center.

It's true some of the analysis can be carried out in TC, but most of the good stuff has been gutted from GC. Garmin seems to acknowledge that, but has no stated timetable for getting those things back. Just wait, its coming.;)

BTW, have you seen the number of forum posts concerning users who have mega-problems uploading to GC? It usually takes several tries before you can get something to upload. You must be one of the lucky ones. Have fun, I'm not, and I'm outta here! :D

    No activities; getting worried!

Only a few of my activities are showing up on GC. They keep promising but where are they?

I agree, when is Garmin going to get all our data onto GC? I am fast running out of space on my Garmin Forerunner 305.

Wait! Are you not uploading to Garmin Connect or at least to Training Center? The FR305 has limited trackpoint storage, so while it may seem you are able to store enough data on there, detail will be erased to make room for new activities, leaving you with only summary data.

Beaker, as you say, I might eventually agree with you,
but for now, I still see updates on migration and more precise status,
as read in RUNKKRUN august 06 update

Let's both hope that I don't eventually agree with you :)

    riiightt--frankly I thought the post/update was PATHETIC.
No mention of WHEN will the longer activities be migrated--I haven't had an activity migrated in over a month (maybe months).
And they wanna throw a bone like the out of sight improvements to infrastructure, and oh gee, goody-look what we're giving the end of August and look what's coming--all your MB faves---eventually.
    haha
    garbage.

You can manually import them if you like, but you will have duplicates when the migration is complete. However, with bulk delete recently added to Garmin Connect, maybe that's not as daunting an issue as it was?
