News Feed Format vs. Profile

I took a look at my News Feed and since I don't follow anyone, I just see my own activities. But I really like the format and would like to share a web link to my activities in that format instead of in the profile format. The main difference is that the News Feed shows all the photos I have uploaded whereas in the profile view, it just shows the map and some data. I think the photos really spice up the news feed nicely, but in order for anyone to see my events in that format, it seems they have to have a Garmin account?

I think it would be better if people could view the feed in this "nicer format" before having to sign up. I guess simplest way to do this would be to have profile settings that allow each user to control how their profile is displayed (possibly multiple different formats/layouts, but at least the option to show/hide photos).

  • I cannot help with adding the feature (I recommend suggesting it to Garmin at Share Ideas | Garmin), but as a workaround you can make a cropped screenshot of the newsfeed post and share it with your friends. Another possibility is creating a Group, and having your friends joining the group (they do not have to be among your Connections for that; GC account still needed though). The feed of the group uses the same format, with the photos. And the third option is connecting your GC account with Strava, which uses similar format for their newsfeed - your friends do not need a GC, and Strava is an open platform, available for anyone, not only for owners of Garmin devices). And, of course, you can also use the share feature "Photo with Stats" found on the phone app.
