Been following your Garmin-sanitation practices, but this still happens regularly anyway. I did like this run; hope you can save it. Thanks!

Fixed using Fit File Repair Tool

The Forerunner 25, being released 9 years ago, you'll have little support from Garmin. Longer activities can be especially problematic. Can only recommend:

Sync your device then remove all activity fit files from your Garmin device using these directions - Removing Activity Files to Free Up Space on a Garmin Device | Forerunner® 25 | Garmin Customer Support
Buy a new watch (sorry)

While I'm here: is there a basic Garmin you could recommend that handles longer activities well? Primarily used for running; don't need bluetooth/phone connectivity/activity tracking/HRM... Thanks!

In the latest Forerunner lineup, even the most basic models come with these options. There are lots of features that are included in the various models based on price. Try going here - Garmin Forerunner Smartwatches, then click on compare to see what's included. I'd also checkout a few reviews by YouTube influencers, like DC Rainmaker and DesFit.
