New trainingplans - unable to have more than one!!

I'm now unable to use trainingplans for my training anymore.

Since I'm both Running and Cycling and Garmin have changed the trainingplans so that you only can have one, I'm unable to have both a trainingplans for running and cycling Disappointed

Please rollback to the previous mode, when we could have both running- and cyclingplans (and triatlon)

  • This is not correct. I have an account with my devices added (Garmin fenix 6x and Garmin Edge 1040) and on this account I cannot choose an old adaptive plan, along with 1 or more self-guided plans. But I've created a new account with no added devices and here I can add as many plans as I want. But I haven't tested adding any of the adaptive plans on this account.

Garmin Support registered my wish to have back the old functionality and reported back to the developers.

I've changed to use Trainingpeaks instead since Garmin have made it impossible for multisport athletes to use their trainingplans with their newer devices.

Did you try the suggested workaround?

My account has a Forerunner 955, and if I choose the plans normally (starting and finishing setup for one at a time, in a single browser tab), I too cannot select multiple plans. I get an error message saying that a plan is already active. So clearly the restriction that you are seeing is also in effect on my account.

If I use the workaround of opening multiple tabs and starting setup for each plan in each tab, never finishing setup for any one plan until setup for all plans is started, I am able to select multiple plans.

If you click the link I posted earlier to the other thread, you will see that others were able to use this workaround as well, a few months ago.

Here's an example of me trying to set up multiple plans normally, and failing.

And here's an example of where I have 2 active plans, after using the workaround. No I haven't actually taken multiple plans to completion, but I have no reason to believe it wouldn't work.

If the workaround doesn't work for you, I'm sorry to hear that.
