Reschedule workouts from training plan

Quick Question, I have set up a cycling plan with Garmin Cycling Coach for an event next year.

However I don't seem to be able to reschedule any of the workouts. On the app it doesn't show the 3 dots at the top (looks like this is already an issue)

But also I can't drag and drop on the website calendar, I can drag it but it actually doesn't move the workout.

Not being able to move workouts on the Training Plan won't work for me because of my work schedule but I would love to try the cycling plans, something different rather than TR or Zwift (which I have tried before).

I have a Garmin Edge 1050 and a Forerunner 265.

Funny thing is my girlfriend is doing a training plan for running and has no issues moving the workouts about on the app or website.

Thanks for any help with this.

  • I guess you are using one of the "new" options available in Training Plans (Train for an Event, Achieve a Milestone, Improve Fitness, Gain Strength). Unlike the standard Adaptive Coach Plans (using a specific personal coach given by his/her own name), or the Self-Guided Plans, the new plans currently do not allow any rescheduling, and in fact it is not needed at all, since they work in the same way as the Daily Suggested Workouts, just with the goal in focus. So if you skip the workout, or do it on another day, or do something completely different, it does not matter - the watch will generate the future workouts, taking your training history, and the current fitness level into account.

  • Hi, thanks very much for that. Was doing my head in, just couldn’t work out why it wouldn’t work. Makes total sense now you have said that. So just adapts to if I fancy a rest day. Magic. Now to post a question on edge 1050 dropouts with the kickr lol

    once again thanks.

  • If we put a workout in the future, does the DSW take this into account ?

  • AFAIK DSW generates workouts based on your training history, fitness level, training status & readiness, and the goal, but I do not think it looks into your future workouts.

  • I had the same question, thanks for the answers.  Am I correct to see that Garmn only offers the Adaptive Coach Plan to running and not to cycling?
