How to disable or remove 2FA on my account

OK, I played a bit with ECG app which I find totally useless and remove it along with my test measurement. Now I would love to remove 2FA as well, since I don't use it or want to use it, unfortunately the account says:

  • I can't really help you with disabling 2FA, but there should be several links on the right side of this page. Regarding rude support service, my guess is that because of your location, you might be dealing with a 3rd-party distributor, which is the case in many countries. Garmin support in my country is superb, but sadly it doesn't seem to be a universal standard.

  • I haven't gone through my local representatives as they are useless as f--- and total waste of time, I went to Garmin's US support directly. The most disturbing fact that there was a support representative, who didn't even listen what I tell him and he was rushing is more than enough for me to say its not OK, since I myself work in such area, I am perfectly aware of the importance of end client communication and how this is being handled.

On the next try I spoke with different person who was way much OK, but yet again, not so helpful as the answers I received were either to learn to live with that option or to delete my account and create a new one, which I find as an absurd, as tomorrow Garmin may introduce another feature which yet again require permanent 2FA which yet again will lock my account and yet again I will have to delete it or god knows what to do with it to get rid of something I don't want to use.

  • You can't just switch on ECG outside of any of the approved regions. That means you must have done a number of extra steps to make it work. The instruction that I saw even required additional apps and a VPN.

Wouldn't t be an idea to ask the same people who have explained how to switch it on how to get rid of the 2FA?

  • I won’t go into specifics, as it could lead to a ban or account issues, which I’d like to avoid. But to clarify, there were only two steps involved, and I haven't used a VPN in years. The first step was related to a different application I use for my Xbox, and the second was just a guess based on something I came across recently. I figured it all out on my own, and while I do know how to disable it, it would involve dealing with their not-so-responsive support team.
