Data won't transfer from Vivoactive 3 to Garmin Connect website

Hello, I just bought a used Vivoactive 3 music and I love it. However my iPhone is too old to run the Garmin Connect app, so I am using Garmin Express on PC.

Most data won't transfer to the Garmin Connect website via neither USB/Garmin Express nor Wifi. I can see all data for specific activities I've used the watch to track, but there's no data for general stuff like Daily Steps, Heart Rate, Intensity Minutes, Stress, VO2 Max, Records and Sleep. I can see actively burned calories, but only the ones burned when I have set the watch to track specific activities, and not the total number of actively burned calories that I can see on the watch itself.

I have tried syncing via USB as well as Wifi, and I have tried switching the watch off and on to no avail. Can anyone help me sort this issue out?

  • Any suggestions? I had a look at trux' "Troubleshooting guide for (some) data missing after syncing" and it didn't make any difference. To reiterate, activities upload just fine, general data (intensity minutes, sleep, heart rate, daily steps etc.) don't.

Try repeating very carefully all the steps in the hint #4 of that guide, and wait till the next day to see whether it helped (it won't help syncing the past lost data!). If it does not help at all, apply the hint #5 (master reset to factory defaults), and as the last resort apply the hint #7 (reach out to the Product Support)

  • BTW, if doing all the steps from the hints #4 seems to be too complicated and long, you can also try the shorter process described in the article Remove and Add a Device From the Garmin Connect App | Garmin Customer Support, then log a few minutes of steps and HR, and record a test activity, wait till the next morning, sync, and see whether it helped. Though doing it properly with all those apps, and in the described order, is often needed to fix the problem.

  • You're a hero! Garmin ought to pay you a salary, everything works flawlessly now, thanks a lot!
