Request - Adding equipment - a date from the future.

I already wrote about it 3 years ago (sic!) - as you can see it passed without an echo. So maybe one more time.

When adding equipment, we can choose the date of its first use. Why can't we choose, for example, the next day? The possibility to choose ends with the current one. For example: it's now evening, I'm not planning any more bike rides today, I've just replaced the bottom bracket in it and I'd like to add it to the equipment base - but I can't set its first use for tomorrow - I can at most for today, which will be inconsistent, because it will add to the new bottom bracket today's activities I did still on the old one.

Why are such trivial things unresolved for years?

This forum is more for discussions between users. Garmin might see it, but don't count on it.

You can't count on getting any replies. It even says that in that page: "While we wish we could answer each submission, it is not possible, and you may not hear back from us."

Garmin can't implement everything one or a few users ask for if there isn't a really good reason to implement it. Garmin got millions of users all over the world. Here it is easy to just add the gear when you start to use it or even add it after you've started to use it.

Not at all. I'm just a user and reads and observes what really is happening.

As I wrote. This forum is more for discussions between users and not a way to get in contact with Garmin. So, you are writing to other users and can only expect replies from other users.

I haven't been using a garmin for one, two, or five years, just a little longer. I have posted a lot of useful ideas on their wonderful "ideas" page that have never been implemented. This site is a "blowout" - It's just as well that what you type there may go to /dev/null because you have no confirmation that anyone has read it. Turning on edge screen backlighting based on sunset time, or using the "lap" button on the edge remote to do more than just mark laps is not an invention of mine that only I feel the need for. Repeatedly reported on their "ideas" page. My post is also meant to show new consumers how their customer submissions are handled.

They will consider an idea if it is massively requested, but one-off requests for features that do not have any great added value do not have a high chance to be implemented. And I am sorry, but your request to be able adding a gear in future is definitely in the second category. There won't be many people ever having that need.

As a workaround, if you really have to add the gear for tomorrow already today, and for some reason do not want to use today's date, simply temporarily change the date in the OS of your computer, add the gear, and then set the time/date back to the auto mode. Or just wait for tomorrow

Your theory misses the truth. We have mass requests to restore the old look and functionality of "garmin connect" after the replacements 2 months ago. I understand that not enough people expressed their disapproval with the new version? It takes half a million of them? A million? Two ?
A good idea / solution is a good idea and solution - it does not need to be reported by hundreds of people.
