False Nap Detection / Cannot Delete a nap from Yesterday?

I know this this isn't a new complaint, but the nap software for this Venu 3, Phone App, and the online connect web client is frustratingly stupid.  First off, the watch records me for a nap almost every time I play chess online.  Even more frustrating is I can't just delete it from the watch or the phone.  I've had some success deleting them from the web app, but it seems like if it's a nap from yesterday (midnight just passed, so I am trying to clean up the day before going to bed) it will not let me do anything with it.

Seriously, when you pay this much for a supposedly smart watch, the software shouldn't be this stupid.  Not to mention the watch recording you as a nap while you're actually cursing out loud playing a game of chess (or any other time I'm annoyed enough to curse out loud).  It would be easier to deal with the stupid nap detection if the deleting of said naps wasn't like pulling teeth out (or sometimes impossible apparently).

Judging by all the commentary, this has been a problem for a while and is somehow still not fixed?  I'm not sure I would suggest someone else getting this brand of watch at this point... which is a shame because it seems like a pretty stupidly easy thing to fix.

Can anyone else confirm not being able to delete a nap from a previous day?  I have read you should be able to swipe left on your app and it should give you a delete option, but that is not the case on my app.  Which is also baffling...

It's incredibly frustrating... which is exactly what I needed before heading to sleep... brain melting frustration.

  • As far as I am aware you can not delete a nap from the previous day, only on the day it happened. I could delete the ridiculous false naps I got everyday in the sleep coach tab on the app.

  • Nope, no deletion of naps on same day (or previous days) --Forerunner 965.

  • Same problem with fenix 8.

Would be nice, if we can delete naps not only at the same day.

  • AFAIK no one can delete a nap from a previous day, it has to be deleted on the same day or it is permanent. But even if I delete the false naps on the same day, syncing doesn't remove it from my watch, and it also does not affect the sleep coach so if the watch has registered a false nap it is permanent (regardless if removed or not) as far as the sleep coach is concerned. This has been the case for well over a year now, and Garmin quite plainly do not seem to give a damn. It really is sad that their customer service is this bad, because for running it and their eco system does what I need it to do, but for pretty much everything else they perform like a third rate brand. Unless their behavior changes drastically, there will be no more Garmin purchases in this family.
