Despite earlier posts on this forum, Training Load from other sports than cycling are not taken into account in Training Load overviews.
I have seen this when I did e.g. extensive ice skating trips on natural ice. The training load value was calculated as such. The trip was registered on an Edge1030+ where I used the 'cross country cycling' setting as that's closest to skating outside (it is not possible to register another sport than cycling on an E1030+).
As soon as I changed the type of activity in the Connect Web App to 'skating', the Exercise Load (of over 200 points!) disappeared from all Training Load overviews as if the whole skating trip never happened. It was also not visible in the Load Focus. It only remained visible in the Activity List. Furthermore I saw that the Winter Sports Report does not have a Training Status page/overview at all and that all my cycling trips are in the Training Status page of Running! Huh? That's weird
I experienced the same with strength training recorded with E1030+ and having a considerable Exercise Load. As soon as set to Strength Training, the exercise load disappears from the Training Load, only the activity remains.
If I compare all this to how the Training Peaks equivalent to Training Load being hrTSS is calculated (all kinds of sport are taken into account, none is left out), I can only say it's really not ok that the exercise load of other training than cycling or running is left out of the equation.
I have contacted Garmin support but they did not give an answer that made any sense whatsoever.
Who has the same experience and/or knows how this can be fixed as for now I find the E1030+ actually insufficient value for money as it seems useless for e.g. skating, cross country skiing etc.
