Return watch to Store in Munich

Hello everyone,

My wife gave me a Garmin watch for my birthday, which she unfortunately bought at the Garmin Store in Munich rather than online.
Unfortunately, the watch doesn't live up to my expectations, which is a shame because my wife was sure and very happy to give me the watch.

Unlike the Garmin online store, it seems you can only return the watch for 14 days. It is incomprehensible why they would deviate from the rules of the Garmin online store.
Activation to try out the watch is also not allowed with reference to the warranty, which is a misleading statement as in Germany the warranty runs from the date of purchase... this is also possible when buying from the online store.

Has someone a recommendation how to proceed - it is not every customer orientated…

  • Unlike the Garmin online store, it seems you can only return the watch for 14 days.

The regulation in Europe in general (all purchases - not just Garmin):
1- Purchases made directly in the store are not eligible for return.

(You can clarify individually with the dealer beforehand whether he offers this. However, you do not have a right to this).

2-  a 14 day return option is ONLY available for ONLINE purchases.

In this case, it is clear that you have no right to return the device.

Contact product support and express your wish to return the device. Garmin may agree to this. If not, there is nothing more you can do.

    Hi bluefish,

Thank you for prompt reply. However, as you can imagine the answer is very unsatisfying. This is not very customer orientated.
    I will contact Garmin directly.
