Cannot Add manual activity in Garmin Connect

I'm trying to add a manual activity in Garmin Connect. It's a run that I did back in 1985. I can enter the data and everytime it says " An error occured saving the activity " The " Distance " field ( set in Metres ) doesn't let me select Km and Metres so I put the total distance in metres in the distance column.

I'ts not super important but it affects my personal record filelds, specifically " Longest Run " I've tried editing that activity, but again I get the same error message.

I wondered if there Is an undisclosed distance limit that might affect the distace field entry box as the distance in metres is quite a large number?

  • I tested some dates. The oldest manual activity I can create is dated 30 December 1989. So, I think that is the limit.

  • Thank you, I never thought to try the date fields. My longest run was in 1985. It's not important, it's just that having the " longest run " in the Personal Records field show a distance that is out by at least a factor of two is a bit niggling.
( I remember when GPS watches started appearing at our running club, and all our long training routes turned up shorter than our estimations:-)  )

  • You can manually change the longest distance to any value you like.

Go to the PR page: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/personal-records

Click the value and change it. Click the checkmark to save. Do not use the enter key.

  • Thank you, that worked in that it's allowed me to put my furthest distance in, but the rest of the details refer to another race that was being listed as the longest run ( Comrades )

I think a possible solution is to create an event at the earliest date accepted, and put the correct date in the event name.
thanks to all who have pointed me in the right direction Thumbsup
