Garmin Connect Web Cookies Bug

Every time I open Garmin Connect Web I get a prompt to accept cookies. No matter what the choices are the same prompt keeps popping up if I open it in a new tab or refresh the page some short time later.

Also I am logged out on a daily basis regardless of the checkmark "Remember Me"

Seems like the web site has some bugs with their cookies and token expiration. The mobile app has none of these issues.

Browser: Google Chrome Version 124.0.6367.201 (Official Build) (64-bit), no adblocks or any extensions that should affect this behavior.

System: Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS

  • Check your browser settings. Maybe the cookies are deleted when you close your browser?

  • Not the case. This happens even when the browser is not closed and I have no such settings. And no similar issues with any other website.

I just found similar bug reports from over a year ago. One suggestion was to delete all Garmin cookies as apparently a similar bug is present on the dev website too. I will see if this will resolve it and then update the post.

  • yea, seeing that and other similar problems here, I'm using Waterfox on W11, the remember me has never worked properly< and I don't know if it is coincidence, but the cookies thing seems to have started since they launched the new  abomination that they call garmin connect these days
