corrupt .FIT file

I recorded a ride on Friday 3rd May 2024. It just over six hours of riding time to complete with an elapsed time of just over 8 hours.

When I have uploaded the file to Garmin and Strava it shows to finish data is on 10th May and the ride lasted 174 hours.

I have tried the trim option but the time corruption is in the centre of the ride and not at eiher end.

Any thoughts would be of great interest.

Try running the file through FIT File Tools, using the section remover. If that doesn't work, zip then attach the fit file to a reply post. We can take a look to see what can be done.

Try running the file through FIT File Tools, using the section remover. If that doesn't work, zip then attach the fit file to a reply post. We can take a look to see what can be done.

Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
Or upload the fit file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

Thanks for your help.

I went through the FIT FIle Tools option to remove the unwanted section however when I try to upload afterwards I get an error.

This looks like the file path to the location on your computer. We can't access that on the forum

Seems to be a strange time shift at about 26 km into the ride. To fix this, I used Fit File Repair tool.

I split this into 2 parts. Part 1 with only the May 3rd data and part 2 with only the May 10th data. Then I merged the 2 using the option to "Modify Timestamps."

This will work, but you probably will need to first delete from Garmin Connect the original activity, as you would get an error that it has already been uploaded, based on starting time.
