The new web home page is a JOKE

I tried the beta and went back  to the good non beta that shows all the info I want in a manner I want to see it, then when i logged in this morning i was confronted with this

And on pressing the blue button I was confronted with this

This is of little use to me really as even with in focus turned on  as I have now gives me very little useful info like my dashboards used to

  • The whole point of the dashboard it to have fast easy acces to many CUSTOM complex analytics, minimal scrolling, minimal clicking (each person have their own interests). Allowing the modifications and customizations allows each user to efficiently track what interests them. Who cares about stairs and steps, stress and body battery? Not intermediate+ athletes. If you must go to each analytic one by one (or link by link, as you suggest) it misses the point of the dashboard. From the user experience, not many people will continue to dig in for their analytics, they'll just go for competitor that gives them this one web page people want and like and is useful for them. That's the irony, how lots of smart analytics get lost and many user exremely disappointed due to lack of easy access [btw that was the motivation for building the ribbon at ms office, so many tools were unused foe years because they were burried in the menus].

It is not complex to build a proxy analytics website, just as strava and training peaks, that will connect to garmin data and will show the people the data as they want it. It will make garmin connect (web and app) obsolete and useless, but for the complete beginners. Without near roll-back, it will happen within weeks. And maybe thats the point, maybe connect is too much maintanence so garmin tries to wash it off to 3rd party.

  • Couldn't have put it better, dashboards gave all the info you needed at a glance

  • Lets stress the  "all the info YOU needed at a glance" part... Now its all the info they decide you need.

  • I had a GREAT setup before.  I could see my Goals right on the front page to see how far I had to go.  I could track my Gear to help me figure out how much longer I have before I buy a new pair of shoes.  I could customize the Dashboard with ANY of the metrics they offered.  Now Garmin is dictating what I should see????  That doesn't make any sense.  The new Garmin Connect is so limiting and unusable.  And I have seen all the complaints from the Beta Program.  I don't understand why they would push something out if no one likes it.  This is ridiculous.  I like the look and feel, but Garmin should have kept the customizations to where we could add almost anything to the Dashboard.  Fix it Garmin!

  • Sadly mate, they do this all the time but never on so grand a scale as this.
They deliberately force things in for whatever reason before they have actually listened to what is needed...  or what is even wanted by the main users.
I wrote to them despite the fact I know it'll be ignored, with a focus on the fact that a "dashboard" is designed to have all that information available at a glance.
The fact that they have a new element called "At A Glance", which you actually have to scroll down to find, illustrates the point perfectly.
Some app designer whizz-kid, who's probably sleeping with someone on the decision making group, had told them what to put out there, rather than listen to what is desired or even , what we customers LIKE about the existing setup.
    Happens all the time...  Sadly.
Keep making the noise though & write to them as well.  Can't way that there was nothing negative then, at least,

  • And instead of an easy access to the data on the dashboard, it's now click, click ,click, and then back, back back. This "upgrade" is not user friendly.

  • Like others, I do not like this.

I agreed to try the beta and could not see the info I wanted.

Now I am forced to use the new interface and cannot see the data I want.

I hope they make improvements, fast.

  • 100% agree. I had tried their beta and hated it. Went back to the old version. Now I'm being forced to use it. Thanks for nothing garmin

  • e7andy just flagged my comment because I identified him as a Garmin simp lmfao. Talk about having paper-thin skin. Do you wonder why he's the only one on here defending Garmin and saying "just keep your head down and here's a link to privately tell Garmin how much they whiffed the ball on this one so they can just delete it and not deal with it"?

  • Your comment was incorrect, off-topic and didn't add anything to the discussion so I reported it. The only thing I do is to help the users view their data. I don't defend Garmin in any way. I'm just helping you adapt and use the system. It will not help by whining like a baby here.

Ha ha, you didn't like that you were wrong so you downvoted my post :-D
