There is nothing called "preferred device". There is "Primary wearable". The Edge 830 can't be set as that since it isn't an activity tracker. There is also "Primary Training device". It will be the main source for training and performance data, but your devices aren't compatible with Unified Training Status: What is Unified Training Status?
