Big delay in Garmin forum email notification

This is about the forum and not GC, but I am posting this here because there is no specific section for that.

Has anybody else experienced huge delays in forum e-mail notifications lately? Until last week, i received them instantly, but now it takes up to a full day. The delay seem to be random, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter.

Okay thanks, then it must be n issue with my mail provider. I am using the gmail app to check my emails. The mail address registered here is from another provider that gmail accesses via POP3 i think. So multiple points where something could go wrong.

I got the mail notification that seilogramp replied here yesterday. Seems like it was close to instant. But i did not yet receive the notification that e7andy replied, although it was before.

Gmail will take some time to POP mails. It will not do that often. I think you can check how often Gmail fetches email from that other account.

It will be faster if you instead forward mails from that other provider.

I will check on that. Strange thing is that it worked instantly for 2.5 years and suddenly started with the delays this week.

The problem is not with mail fetching by gmail. The emails are also not coming in at the other provider.

It really seems as the mails are not sent (or sent with delay) from the Garmin forum software. But it would not make sense that I am the only one experiencing this.

If not all mails are arriving then the spam filtering might cause that.

Is your other provider your own mail server or are you using a commercial service?

It is gmx, a commercial service. I also checked the spam folder and no Garmin Forum messages were there.

Some of the Garmin forum notifications arrive instantly, some delayed and some not at all (or maybe with a delay so big that they didn't arrive yet).

I thought about changing my mail address in my Garmin account to my Gmail address, but I am hesitant because I have some bad experience with Garmin software and I am concerned that this will break something.
