Trim Activity feature doesn't work

i need to use the Trim Activity feature, but its not allowing me to. I started on my bike ride and forgot to start my activity. I know exactly what time I started and what time I ended from another GPS program. But really I need to copy the route map from my way to the location since I did the same route back, and create a new start, end, and total time. But I can't. I thought this was the whole point of the Trim Activity feature.

    The whole point of trim activity is to remove parts of the logged activity. Usually because you forgot to stop the logging. Trimming is cutting away. Not adding. 

    Adding a route to a logged activity can't be done in Garmin Connect. It can be done with external tools but isn't an easy thing and requires a lot of work.

    If the route isn't really vital I would just change the time and distance of the ride to get that logged for the stats to be correct.
