Why are weights in kilograms rounded to the nearest half kilogram?

When entering weights for workouts using kilograms the most precision I can use is half a kilogram. Forcing half lbs might make sense given that's only 3 barley corns or half a smoot or whatever but a kilogram is more than 2.2 lbs so any rounding can turn into a measurable difference.

This seems completely arbitrary and as a result my workouts tracking isn't as accurate as they should be.
