Feature request - equipment

Hi,

i just have bought second bike, which will be used indoors only on a smart trainer. And i found, that it is not possible to have this bike as default for "virtual cycling" only. I have my main bike as default for "cycling", and that means every type of cycling recorded. When you think about this - its weird to have only one bike for all cycling activities by default - it means it records MTB or Road and virtual rides automatically with one bike and then you have to manually change it. Don't tell me that i am first to find this out

What is weird... when you try to add new equipment - a bike... you are still able to select "running, walks or even swimming" where it can this bike be added as default equip. So it seams, this functionality need a little bit more attention...

Strava for example has this solved nicely - you can have default bikes for different types of cycling... This should be easy to implement right?

Yep, I've been doing this at least 3 times a week for years. But I've really given up on the Gear aspect. Since you can't really use it for anything like scheduling maintence, etc.

Lots of "suggestions" made here fall on deaf ears since this is a user forum and Garmin really doesn't care what is written here. However, I have done a suggestion at the proper Garmin link, but since they never replyed to my suggestion, I have to assume it went in the online trash bin.

Yes, I would like the same enhancement for garmin to add more specific activity types to automatically assign gear. Specifically around cycling, "Gravel Bike", "MTB", "Bike". I have three different bikes that I use for each one of these.

I agree with 4411990...
It drives me crazy since years, I use MTB, eMTB, eBike, Road bike and have to manually adjust the gear for each activity. You can't even define a default gear for each of the activity. only cycling is available which for me equals to 4 potential bikes.
I am just wondering why there is no third party tools to adjust afterward. Or I am missing it...
