I use Komoot quite a bit for creating running and walking courses and I use the direct integration where Komoot courses are automatically imported to the Garmin Connect application.
I've noticed there is a lack of precision in courses created this way. What I mean by this is that sometimes there are not enough course points, so that where a road or path gently curves, the course appears to make shortcuts rather than closely following the path.
Courses created using the Garmin connect app seem to have more precision, but there are not have as many footpaths shown as in Komoot.
A workaround is to export the Komoot course to a GPX flle and then import it into Garmin Connect. This is not too much trouble but a bit annoying since there is the direct integration feature which should be streamlining this process.
Anyone else seen this? Is this a problem with Komoot not generating enough course points when providing direct data to Garmin, or is it Garmin removing some information when it receives data from Komoot?
Thanks
