Reviewing time / pace and other metrics on tracks that are done multiple times over the years.

Hi all,

For hiking / trail running / normal running, I often run the same routes or do the same hiking trails over the years.

Is there a place where I can select a specific trail that I've done and see my timings and other metrics over a year all on one screen, which shows the frequency I've done that course and dates and what the metrics were?

Today all the activities are tracked, but I need to remember when that activity was done and open that activity individually, and not able to compare it with another acvivity.

I'm sure I'm missing something, as many would have the same ask.

TIA

  • Have a look at Segments. You get a "leaderboard" table of your performances for each Segment.. At least for running (and cycling), not for hiking or walking, though. You can create the segments later, and reparse old activities, in order to get them ranked in your own leaderboards. I am not sure, though, what is the maximal length of a segment. Normally it is used rather for smaller sections of a trail. I think the longest I created is around 20km, so I am not sure whether you can make much longer segments. If there is a limit, you'd need to create several segments on the same track.

If not suitable for you, you can also use the Compare function in Garmin Connect Web - first searching the relevant activities by the location name (or using other criteria), and then you can see already the basic metrics on the activities table, and sort the activities (for example) by pace, or even compare them (you can select up to four activity for the detailed comparison)

  • Create a Segment for some types (Run, Bike), then it shows a list with times and dates.

Or name activities by cities, or smaller by streets, from-by-to, then search by it.
