recording HR on Garmin instinct while using zwift

I am recording HR on Garmin instinct while using zwift, the activities appear has Zwift cycling and to my surprise are not counted towards cycling/indoor cycling badges not total activities.

Could I get the rationale for this?
is this just to make a point that the you only recognize your indoor cycling through Tacx ??

When I go rowing I dont have a Garmin boat or rowing machine, these still count as activities...

Activity (not only the HR) must be recorded on a Garmin device (or the Tacx Training app) in order to be counted towards badges and challenges.

I figured, but this does not explain the why. It used to be different.

I'm using my Garmin device to record my HR which is linked to zwift, I do not understand why this makes it an invalid activity.

That is just a rule by Garmin. You must log your activities with a Garmin device to get badges.

You are not logging HR with your watch. You are using it as a sensor just like a HR chest strap.
