I must say : I'm really worried about Garmin Connect Web Beta

Been a Garmin user since 2018...

I just opted in the latest Connect Mobile / Web beta, was eagerly waiting and I must say I am now worried.

I left a feedback but right now the new Connect Web website is unusable.

It's just a white page with a few square information blocks tucked in a corner and those blocks cannot be resized.

Where are the reports blocks... Where are the reports graphs that we can add to the homescreen ?

I REALLY hope that Garmin will still offer the possibility to switch to the old version...

Left a feedback but I am now not really optimistic...

I've tried but I am not able to reproduce this complete dashboard... It's just 2 or 3 visible blocks, then arrows everywhere and a lot of empty space.

  • Mine is even 4 widgets wide, already saved a screenshot as reference to restore it. Can we really not fill that emtpy space?

  • The same can be said for the mobile app version. If you don't use Challenges and you don't train a lot you only have access to a few stats at a time. Stats that are presented are too basic (exemple Focus).

  • I have returned to the previous version, I did not like the new one at all, I lose a lot of information that I use and I have another that does not interest me. I hope they give us the option to choose one of the two and don't "abandon" the old one, keeping my fingers crossed.

  • If you're not willing to use a version that is not even remotely close to being a production version, and you're not willing to assist with feedback, then your best option is to go back to the original version.

  • hope they give us the option to choose one of the two and don't "abandon" the old on

That is extremely improbable. Once they approve the new version for the public release, they will almost certainly enforce it to everyone. So you better continue giving some feedback to the developers while they work on the new design, because it will become more difficult to bring them to change anything, once they release it publicly.

  • the main feature of the beta is that the view is synced between mobile app and web app.
So most likely we won't be getting the reports widgets in the new version.
And I'm sure it will be forced to every user after the public release.
Though I like current version in the web app more

  • In fact I realized about 80% of my actual dashboard consists in Report Graphs (7 days stress, 7 days steps)...

Garmin Connect should at least allow us to pin Reports on homepage and to set shape to "rectangle" instead of "squares". It would be very interesting to have those "reports" handy, which you cannot have either in the actual version without clicking.

  • Really, why would I want to have the same layout on my tiny phone as on my 40" screen? Completely different use case. That's more the lack of a feature. Optional sync between mobile devices would be feature, removing the desktop layout is not.

  • Update : an update is available since today on the GCM app. Now we can have 7 days average cards like the old version. It's getting better... We're missing reports and 7 days overview for some widgets, it would be nice.

  • Yeah the old version is a lot better, I had mine set up similar to that, now lots of stuff in its place that is of no use to me
